We are current students within the School of Aboriginal Studies at Georgian College, Barrie campus. As part of the student body we are committed to the continuous growth and development of the Ojibwe language and cultural revitalization efforts within our region and beyond. Together, we work with our peers, Elders, faculty and support staff in building this resource for your educational needs, goals and growth. However, this website is maintained and updated solely by the students involved.
We commit ourselves to building a resource designed to allow students, staff and faculty involved in the Aboriginal Studies programs, courses and general education classes at Georgian College to utilize, share and build on their current language and cultural knowledge.
The School of Aboriginal Studies currently offers four academic programs. Georgian College offers General Education Courses regarding Indigenous and/or local Aboriginal heritage, culture, issues and politics.
Aboriginal Resource Centres:
There are four Aboriginal Resource Centres that offer a place for Aboriginal students and their culturally diversified peers to meet, do homework, receive support for both academic and personal needs, and participate in cultural activities throughout the entire school year.
